Before the lesson
Use pages 1–2 for learners and reserve page 3 for feedback. Begin with the printed warm-up and six-word matching task, focusing on billboard, clutter and revenue.
- Compare vocabulary choices, then read for the main idea before rereading the numbered paragraphs for detail.
- Separate arguments for fewer signs from concerns about income and small businesses. Identify partial regulation rather than only a total ban.
- Discuss where limits might apply, then plan the 140–170-word local-newspaper opinion with reasons and an opposing argument.
Support and extension
Support with a supporters / opponents / compromise plan. Accept accurate comprehension paraphrases; opinions need reasons, not the key's wording. Extend by asking learners to propose a specific limit on bright screens or large signs.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
