Before the lesson
Use the warm-up about preparing for bus travel. Match prepare, local, solution, reduce, improve and responsible; reserve page 3 for feedback.
- Read the three numbered paragraphs for the main change or problem, then reread for the people, actions and results.
- Find why they took the bus, their before-lunch priority, the villages and their revised route. Notice checking the last bus home.
- Discuss travel preparation, then plan the 80–100-word short-trip paragraph with a destination, transport and activities.
Support and extension
Support with destination / travel / activities Rehearse answers in pairs before writing; accept accurate paraphrases and individual ideas. Extend by asking learners to explain a backup plan for a fictional delay.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
