Before the lesson
Use pages 1–2 for learners and reserve page 3 for feedback. Begin with the printed warm-up and six-word matching task, focusing on borrow, membership and maintain.
- Compare vocabulary choices, then read for the main idea before rereading the numbered paragraphs for detail.
- Distinguish a service's benefits from its running problems, using paragraph numbers for evidence.
- Choose three useful items and discuss fees and return rules before planning the 120–150-word local borrowing-service proposal.
Support and extension
Support with an items / organisation / problem plan. Accept accurate comprehension paraphrases; opinions need reasons, not the key's wording. Extend by asking learners to compare ownership with borrowing for an item used daily.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
