Before the lesson
Give learners page 1; use the suggested answers on page 2 after they have written and compared their own responses.
- Contrast Sorry, I mean… with Not…, but… and practise stressing the corrected word.
- Write corrections for Monday/Tuesday, 10/11 euros, Tokyo/Osaka and the remaining errors.
- Practise a deliberately mistaken statement and correction; the listener repeats the final correct detail.
Support and extension
Offer old/new pairs for support. Extend by correcting without restarting the whole sentence. The teacher-name prompt leaves the names open, so consistent invented names are valid; an apology alone does not supply the correction.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
