Before the lesson
Use the short reminder before learners work on page 1; keep the page-2 models for feedback.
- Sort two hours and Monday as a period and a starting point. Include since I was a child to show that a starting point can be a clause.
- Complete the twelve gaps and explain each choice from its time expression, including negative hasn't eaten since breakfast.
- Finish the three personal sentences with for or since. Compare answers with the models without copying their dates or durations.
Support and extension
Support with a start-to-now timeline. Extend by expressing one duration both ways where the dates allow it; accept fictional details and correctly formed personal answers.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
