Before the lesson
Use the two-page B2-C1 exercise with the key withheld. Review how a future reference point differs from the length of an activity.
- Model working here for ten years by June. Identify the activity, duration and future point before filling the gap.
- Complete the 20 sentences, retaining will have been and checking -ing spellings such as running and driving.
- Check full sentences against page 2 and explain a chosen duration using a short timeline.
Support and extension
Support with the matching reference sheet. Extend by contrasting duration with a future-perfect result; the form does not itself say the activity ends at the reference point.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
