Before the lesson
Give learners page 1; use the suggested answers on page 2 after they have written and compared their own responses.
- Sort first/next/finally from before/after and notice how the latter can introduce a noun or clause.
- Write steps for tea, homework, email, leaving home and the remaining processes.
- Combine selected steps into a short explanation and let a partner repeat the order.
Support and extension
Provide an optional three-step strip. Extend with a before-clause and explain that it may describe a condition rather than the next action. Accept logical alternatives; these are language exercises, not practical demonstrations with hot water.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
