Before the lesson
Select several of the 20 policy and workplace statements; give planning time but avoid full scripts.
- Identify the claim in a statement about flexible work, privacy or environmental reporting.
- In pairs, acknowledge a specific point, qualify or challenge it and invite a response.
- Report where the pair agrees, where it differs and which condition could change either view.
Support and extension
Support with I take your point, but… and I agree to some extent…. Extend by distinguishing a principle from how it could be implemented. Evaluate the exchange, not learners' political positions.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
