A simple way to teach it

Before the lesson

Use the two model conversations and phrase lists on the learner page. The final dialogue prompts are open-ended, with no fixed answer key.

  1. Read the library-hours discussion and distinguish access benefits from staffing and security considerations.
  2. Compare extra workshop places with the equipment, space and alternative-hall constraints.
  3. Develop a final prompt with two phrases, adding a point that changes or strengthens the discussion.

Support and extension

Offer benefit/constraint/check notes. Extend with measures of success; adding more points should not replace checking feasibility.

Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
