Before the lesson
Use both pages and private guest/receptionist cards. Preview included, reservation, luggage storage and unfamiliar charge.
- Read the check-in and window-problem models, identifying requests, checks and agreed follow-up.
- Role-play checkout and a breakfast-bag charge, a room request with conflicting budget and quietness needs, and arriving after breakfast closes.
- Confirm the option and any cost or collection time, then swap roles and change a requirement.
Support and extension
Support with a room/price/breakfast chart. Extend by explaining trade-offs without pressuring the guest; the quiet £95 room exceeds the £90 budget even before breakfast. Hotel prices and arrangements are fictional.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
