Before the lesson
Give both pages and private passenger/staff cards. Preview allowance, boarding, aisle and current departure screens.
- Read the check-in and changed-gate models, noticing that staff check the flight and offer available seat choices.
- Role-play an overweight bag, conflicting gate information and a delay with no confirmed departure time; ask what is known before deciding.
- Confirm the current route, checked option or source of updates, swap roles and repeat with a new detail.
Support and extension
Support with a flight-number/gate/time note grid and question stems. Extend with a concise summary of uncertainty. The £20 excess charge is fictional; check actual cabin restrictions and airline announcements rather than inventing rules or departure times.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
