Before the lesson
Use both pages. Read the two model conversations before distributing the paired role cards; partners should see only their own instructions.
- Read for the distinction between an estimated arrival and a guarantee, and between delayed tracking and a lost parcel.
- Use the speed-or-cost, tracking enquiry and fragile-gift cards; compare packaging plus postage with the stated budget.
- State the chosen service or follow-up reference, including any uncertainty about arrival or cover.
Support and extension
Allow keyword notes and the phrase bank, not a full script. Swap roles and change one constraint for a second round. Judge clarity and the agreed next step, not one prescribed dialogue; the service conditions are fictional.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
