Before the lesson
Use page 1 and keep the suggested answers on page 2 for feedback. Start with familiar examples such as ankle, hand and knee.
- Fill familiar letters first, then compare with a partner. Several letters can remain blank. Explain diaphragm only if useful; learners need not master specialist anatomy to complete this beginner retrieval task.
- Review spelling, the initial letter and topic relevance. The answer key provides suggestions; other appropriate words or phrases are valid.
- Use a simple body diagram to locate familiar answers and practise This is my ... .
Support and extension
Support with a limited diagram and familiar vocabulary; extend with arm / upper arm or finger / index finger distinctions. Allow learners to point to a picture rather than their own bodies.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
