Before the lesson
Use pages 1–2 with the page 3 key kept back. Preview church, star, angel and carol.
- Match the six words and identify which are people, objects, activities or values.
- Read for the birth story, Bethlehem, the star and church activities; write complete-sentence answers to the five questions.
- Discuss songs, helping others and meaningful days, then write the assigned 5–6 sentences about an important day in a culture.
Support and extension
Provide stems such as People may sing…. Extend with a short explanation of one symbol. Present beliefs respectfully as beliefs; learners can discuss a community or imagined example instead of personal faith.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
