Before the lesson
Give learners page 1 and keep the suggested answers on page 2. Preview carol, manger and nativity and explain that each bank item is used once.
- Use story clues for Bethlehem, shepherd and wise men, and distinguish the building church from the meeting service.
- Compare prayer, worship, faith and peace carefully: broad sentences can allow more than one sensible allocation, even though each bank item is used once.
- Choose one of the three discussion prompts about a quiet celebration, community traditions or seasonal songs.
Support and extension
Allow justified alternatives in the broad religious-value sentences. Learners may discuss an observed tradition rather than their own faith.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
