Before the lesson
Use the two model conversations and key-phrase lists on the single learner page; the final prompts are open-ended and need no fixed answer key.
- Identify tomorrow at ten, three slides and separate completed/partial responses in the urgent-update model.
- Read the rota model and distinguish approval, planned notice and emergency phone contact.
- Create a prompt-based exchange with two key phrases and a final understanding check.
Support and extension
Use deadline/output/approval/exception notes. Extend by asking what remains provisional; treat rota arrangements as the dialogue's rules, not employment advice.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
