Before the lesson
Give learners page 1 and keep the suggested answers on page 2. Preview diya, rangoli and lamp and explain that each bank item is used once.
- Complete the object definitions, distinguishing the general lamp from diya and the floor design rangoli.
- Review light, colour, prayer and joy in their sentence contexts; consider coherent swaps where the wording is broad rather than declaring the key uniquely possible.
- Discuss types of celebratory light, shared food or the meaning of colour, without requiring religious participation.
Support and extension
Support with pictures or brief definitions; no flame-based activity is necessary. Extend with a decoration description. The autumn reference is not a universal season for every location.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
