Before the lesson
Use learner pages 1–2 and keep page 3 for checking. Introduce resurrection and crucifixion neutrally as terms in the Easter account.
- Match the six words, distinguishing disciples from faith and reflection.
- Read the four paragraphs and locate evidence for the five comprehension answers, especially the empty tomb and the meaning of Easter services.
- Discuss why stories and reflection matter, then plan the 120–150-word homework about a celebration expressing hope, remembrance or new life.
Support and extension
Offer paragraph pointers and sentence starters. Extend by comparing symbols rather than ranking beliefs. Accept article-supported paraphrases; learners need not discuss their own religion.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
