Before the lesson
Give learner pages 1–2 and retain page 3. Preview gathering, greeting and generosity; this is a 50–60-minute reading sequence.
- Match the vocabulary and read for how Eid marks the end of Ramadan and why dates can vary.
- Answer the five comprehension questions, locating Eid Mubarak and the connection between charity and participation.
- Discuss meaningful greetings and intergenerational celebrations, then outline the 120–150-word descriptive paragraph about people, food and one custom.
Support and extension
Offer a people/food/custom planning chart and allow an imagined celebration. Extend by explaining how local dishes express regional traditions. No single menu or date applies to every community; accept article-supported paraphrases.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
