Before the lesson
Use the two model conversations and phrase lists on the learner page. The final dialogue prompts are open-ended, with no fixed answer key.
- Read the project and conference exchanges; identify the reason for ending each conversation.
- Notice how reviewing the brief or sending analysed results gives the closing a useful next step.
- Use the final prompts to write a new dialogue with at least two key phrases, then practise a natural closing.
Support and extension
Offer reason/thanks/next-step notes. Extend by replacing vague promises with realistic actions; do not promise unfinished research results.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
