A simple way to teach it

Before the lesson

Use the single A1-A2 reference sheet. It supplies explanations and examples, not a set of exercises or an answer key.

  1. Read the two diagrams and identify the future time. Compare the prediction about rain with the decision to call.
  2. Build positive, negative and question forms from the four examples. Keep the main verb in its base form after will.
  3. Practise a short offer or promise using a familiar verb, then explain whether it predicts an event or expresses a choice.

Support and extension

Support with a few verbs and one future-time expression. Extend by giving different meanings to will in simple contexts; avoid implying that it is the only way to refer to future time.

Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
