Before the lesson
Use both pages. Read the two model conversations before distributing the paired role cards; partners should see only their own instructions.
- Read the meal request and tray-table conversations; find where the crew checks before promising an option.
- Use the vegetarian meal, feeling sick and turbulence cards, keeping requests clear and responses within the crew's role.
- Report the help requested and what the passenger must wait for; repeat with a changed seat or meal detail.
Support and extension
Offer request stems and symptom vocabulary. These are fictional language tasks, not medical or aviation advice: no diagnoses, medicine suggestions or guarantees of safety; follow actual crew instructions.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
