Before the lesson
Use the single learner page in pairs. Personal or imagined answers can vary; there is no fixed answer key.
- Read the missed-call model and identify was cooking and was charging.
- Ask the time-specific questions, then recall a busy scene and what people were doing.
- Imagine a family-picnic snapshot and answer questions about people and weather.
Support and extension
Supply person/activity notes. Extend with negatives; no interruption is required for every past continuous statement.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
