Before the lesson
Use page 1 and keep the suggested answers on page 2 for feedback. Start with familiar examples such as bank, cafe and library.
- Fill familiar letters first, then compare with a partner. Some letters may stay blank. Explain dentist's surgery as a place and vet clinic as an animal-care facility, keeping answers about places rather than just occupations.
- Review spelling, the initial letter and topic relevance. The answer key provides suggestions; other appropriate words or phrases are valid.
- Choose several places and practise I go to ... to ... or describe their locations on a simple map.
Support and extension
Support with a town map and familiar landmarks; extend by planning a short route. Accept suitable local places and regional terms beyond the key.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
