Before the lesson
Use the two-page A2-B1 exercise and keep the key separate. Review have / has + past participle and common irregular forms.
- Model have finished and has lost, relating the actions to the present. Compare these with have lived here since 2020.
- Complete all gaps, checking eaten, bought, broken, forgotten, found and taken. Treat the police as a plural subject in the supplied example.
- Check page 2 and explain one experience, one continuing situation and one current result.
Support and extension
Support with a participle bank. Extend by adding a finished-time follow-up to an experience question, distinguishing that simple-past detail from the experience up to now.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
