Before the lesson
Use page 1 for writing and page 2 as adaptable models. Dates, possessions and life details in the examples are not required answers.
- Rehearse one How long question using for or since; contrast have been learning with have known and have had.
- Write complete answers, adding a detail where possible. Allow invented or alternative situations if a work, friend or vehicle question does not suit someone.
- Review tense and time phrases, then compare the travel experience with its past-simple detail: I have visited… I went… in 2024.
Support and extension
Support with personal sentence starters and the example page. Extend with a partner follow-up about a completed event; accept accurate individual wording, not copied model facts.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
