A simple way to teach it

Before the lesson

Use the two model conversations and phrase lists on the learner page. The final dialogue prompts are open-ended, with no fixed answer key.

  1. Read the car-free-square proposal and identify trial conditions and measures before a permanent decision.
  2. Discuss the training exchange: distinguish fewer errors from proof that training caused them.
  3. Role-play a final prompt with two phrases, a reason and a qualified conclusion.

Support and extension

Provide view/evidence/concern notes. Extend by stating what additional evidence would change the recommendation.

Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
