Before the lesson
Separate cards 3A and 3B. Clarify spontaneously and recommend; offer a brief model of a travel problem in the past.
- Exchange the five questions per card, adding details about an English skill, useful website or relaxing place.
- For the travel-problem question, accept no experience or an invented situation. Distinguish what happened from predictions about the next five years.
- Finish by comparing vocabulary-learning methods and explaining which approach each learner might try.
Support and extension
Provide past-sequence words and I think ... will ...; extend by asking about the reason behind a recommendation. Avoid treating preferred study methods as universally best. No fixed key is provided.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
