Before the lesson
Cut or fold the sheet into the two cards. Review working towards and recommend doing before starting.
- Partners alternate questions about a free evening, teamwork and decision-making, using a brief example to explain a preference.
- Ask the travel and local-recommendation questions. Invite a fictional visitor scenario rather than assuming learners travel regularly.
- End with a current goal and advice for a new worker or student; partners summarise a useful suggestion accurately.
Support and extension
Support with I'd recommend ...ing and My advice would be ...; extend by asking when a suggestion would not suit someone. Personal goals may be fictional. Open answers have no fixed key.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
