Before the lesson
Use page 1 and keep the suggested answers on page 2 for feedback. Start with familiar examples such as computer, desk and envelope.
- Fill familiar letters first, then compare with a partner. X may be left blank; explain year planner, USB drive and zip file if needed, noting that the list includes digital as well as physical items.
- Review spelling, the initial letter and topic relevance. The answer key provides suggestions; other appropriate words or phrases are valid.
- Ask learners to explain the use of a printer, stapler or keyboard in a short sentence.
Support and extension
Support with an office picture or real stationery; extend by choosing five essentials for a small office. Alternatives must fit the topic, not just the letter.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
