Before the lesson
Give both pages and private customer/assistant cards. Preview aisle, connector, sold out and receipt.
- Read the charging-cable and forgotten-sandwich models, noticing checks of item type and evidence of payment.
- Role-play snacks within £8, a sandwich missing from a bag and breakfast shopping within £5 before closing.
- Confirm items, locations and total or return of the paid-for purchase; swap roles and change one detail.
Support and extension
Support with a simple item/price list and request stems. Extend by comparing alternatives when bread has sold out. Use fictional purchases; the missing sandwich is returned without another charge, rather than assuming the customer never paid.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
