A simple way to teach it

Before the lesson

Use both pages, keeping each partner's role card private. Preview proof of address, deposit and working days; all account rules are fictional.

  1. Read the account-opening and cash-deposit models, noticing follow-up questions about documents, timing and receipts.
  2. Allow 2–3 minutes to prepare and 3–4 minutes to speak for each card: missing address evidence, choosing an account for a deposit, or a lost card.
  3. Summarise the agreed next step, swap roles and repeat with a changed appointment or amount.

Support and extension

Give A2 learners request stems and a small phrase shortlist; ask B1 learners to clarify options without a script. Use invented names and account details, never real PINs or financial records. Assess clear confirmation, not real banking advice.

Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
