Before the lesson
Use the single learner page in pairs. Personal or imagined answers can vary; there is no fixed answer key.
- Read the picnic alternatives and notice present simple after if.
- Answer the plan and small-problem questions with a condition and likely response.
- Agree a main day-out plan and two alternatives for rain or a closed venue.
Support and extension
Provide condition/result halves. Extend by reversing clause order; practise this standard pattern without implying it is the only possible conditional form.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
