A simple way to teach it

Before the lesson

Use the two model conversations and key-phrase lists on the single learner page; the final prompts are open-ended and need no fixed answer key.

  1. Read the English-practice model and explain how pausing and describing changes passive viewing into practice.
  2. Find welcome-desk, class-location and summer-fair examples that broaden the volunteer's options.
  3. Create a prompt dialogue with two key phrases and examples responding to the listener's uncertainty.

Support and extension

Provide general idea/example/why useful notes. Extend by asking the listener to suggest another example instead of listing unrelated activities.

Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
