Before the lesson
Use the single learner page in pairs. Personal or invented responses can vary; there is no fixed answer key.
- Use the bicycle-chain exchange to identify the owner, the work and the person doing it.
- Discuss repairs, checks, alterations and delivery; contrast professional service, replacement and DIY in the laptop and outfit situations.
- Prioritise work on a home, bicycle or vehicle within a budget, agreeing which jobs need professionals and which can safely wait.
Support and extension
Use have/get + object + past participle, changing have/get for time. Having a bag stolen describes an unwanted experience, not a service someone ordered.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
