Before the lesson
Use the two model conversations and key-phrase lists on the single learner page; the final prompts are open-ended and need no fixed answer key.
- Read the coast-trip model and distinguish the nine-o'clock meeting from the nine-twenty train.
- Trace why half past three is too short and how a text after the dentist reduces waiting.
- Create either prompt exchange with two key phrases and summarise time, place and one practical detail.
Support and extension
Offer date/time/place/message notes. Extend with a possible delay and a backup contact plan rather than an unexplained time change.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
