Before the lesson
Use the two model conversations and key-phrase lists on the single learner page; the final prompts are open-ended and need no fixed answer key.
- Identify shared publicity, free books and a small reading room as reasons to anticipate queues.
- Read the race model and distinguish training evidence, hopes and uncertain finishing time.
- Create a prompt exchange with two key phrases and explain what each prediction rests on.
Support and extension
Provide clue/prediction/plan notes. Extend by making a less certain version of a definite prediction and discussing why it may fit better.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
