Before the lesson
Use the single learner page in pairs. Personal or invented answers can vary; there is no fixed answer key.
- Read the chance-meeting model and identify waiting, the meeting and earlier contact.
- Use the six life-story questions to build one coherent account; try another prompt if time permits.
- Invent a story beginning I was waiting outside when I heard my name, then answer two partner questions.
Support and extension
Supply suddenly, earlier and in the end. Check the event order and viewpoint; do not require an unrelated personal example for every connected story question.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
