A simple way to teach it

Before the lesson

Use the two model conversations and key-phrase lists on the single learner page; the final prompts are open-ended and need no fixed answer key.

  1. Read the film-night dialogue and identify the eight-o'clock limit and shorter-film compromise.
  2. Record who presents each section and how rehearsal supports the nervous speaker.
  3. Create either prompt dialogue with two key phrases and a clear final division or limit.

Support and extension

Offer want/need/can offer notes. Extend by changing one constraint and renegotiating instead of simply copying the model.

Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
