Before the lesson
Cut or fold the single sheet along the dotted line and give each partner a different card. Each card has five questions. Preview What is your name? and What time do you get up?
- Model My name is ... and I get up at ... before partners begin. Allow an invented age, family or job if learners prefer.
- Learners take turns asking and answering the five questions on their own card without showing it. Encourage a request to repeat when needed rather than reading a partner's questions.
- Ask each learner to recall two non-sensitive details about their partner, then change partners.
Support and extension
Support with name, country, time and food answer frames; extend by adding one simple follow-up such as And you? This is an open speaking activity with no answer key.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
