Before the lesson
Give partners separate cards 4A and 4B. Review How long ...? with I've lived here for ... / since ... before asking about a home.
- Begin with happiness, films and friends, giving learners a moment to think of an answer.
- Alternate questions and listen for the difference between a current book, a regular study habit and the duration of living somewhere.
- Have learners recall an interest or new activity their partner mentioned and ask a follow-up.
Support and extension
Offer I'm not reading a book at the moment and simple frequency frames. Home details may be invented or skipped; extend duration answers with for/since. This is open speaking, not a keyed grammar test.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
