Before the lesson
Give each learner one card and clarify open-minded and ordinary people. Agree that disagreement should address ideas, not the speaker.
- Ask for context and limits when discussing competition or when a rule might be broken, rather than accepting an absolute answer.
- Connect trust at work with leadership in difficulty, using a hypothetical situation to test the qualities proposed.
- End by weighing a neighbourhood improvement or environmental action against feasibility and who it includes.
Support and extension
Support with That may hold when ...; extend by reconciling two competing principles. Use hypothetical cases, not advice to break laws. No specialist knowledge or fixed answer key is required.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
