Before the lesson
Separate cards 1A and 1B. Clarify resilience, life expectancy and belonging; frame health policy as a general discussion, not medical advice.
- Partners develop answers with a defined term, a reason and an example, allowing time to unpack each broad question.
- Connect a good life and national success beyond economics; ask how a proposed measure might overlook some experiences.
- Conclude by examining how wording changes a listener's interpretation, or how climate and longer lives could affect belonging and generations.
Support and extension
Support by narrowing a question to one hypothetical context. Extend with a counterargument and a revised conclusion. Opinions need not use statistics or disclose health or wealth; no fixed key is provided.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
