Before the lesson
Give learners page 1 and keep the page 2 answer key separate. Its question forms are targets; personal answers are models, not required wording.
- Use running the town to distinguish an imagined situation from a past event.
- Complete A about an extra day off, living anywhere, instantly learning a skill and finding a wallet; add reasons.
- Reorder B's money, moving abroad and manager questions, then compare partners' imagined choices.
Support and extension
Accept learned or learnt in A3. The past form marks hypothetical distance here, not past time; were is standard in the manager question, with contractions allowed in answers.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
