Before the lesson
Use the two model conversations and phrase lists on the learner page. The final dialogue prompts are open-ended, with no fixed answer key.
- Read the cooking-show conversation and identify reactions followed by questions about the result.
- Follow the camping story and notice how a specific question keeps it going.
- Use a final prompt to practise two reaction phrases with natural intonation and a follow-up.
Support and extension
Supply What happened next? and Did…? prompts. Extend by matching enthusiasm or curiosity to the news rather than using the same reaction each time.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
