Before the lesson
Keep the page-3 key separate. Use the market shopping warm-up, then match visit, early, busy, choose, helpful and enjoy on page 1.
- Read the three numbered paragraphs together, checking who and where before asking learners to find details independently.
- Find when Mia goes, why she arrives early, what she buys and what she enjoys.
- Use the shopping discussion to plan the 60–80-word paragraph about a favourite place, its goods and reasons for choosing it.
Support and extension
Support with I buy… there because… Allow oral rehearsal before writing and accept accurate paraphrases of the key. Extend by asking pairs to compare a market with a supermarket.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
