Before the lesson
Use the single learner page in pairs. Personal or invented responses can vary; there is no fixed answer key.
- Use the early-shift exchange to separate an old bedtime, a familiar start time and an adjustment still in progress.
- Discuss devices, roles and routines; compare the village, city, course and shared-flat situations.
- Plan a major life change: describe the old routine, what is already familiar and three practical ways to get used to the new situation.
Support and extension
Contrast used to + base verb with be/get used to + noun or -ing. To is a preposition in the familiarity patterns; be and get can change tense.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
