Before the lesson
Use the single learner page in pairs. Personal or invented responses can vary; there is no fixed answer key.
- Compare preferring to wait with wanting another person to wait in the opening decision.
- Discuss free evenings, working alone and others' behaviour; respond tactfully to the photo, unfinished-task and unannounced-visit situations.
- Negotiate two fair rules for a shared home or workplace, considering noise, visitors and unfinished jobs, then report the compromise.
Support and extension
Contrast I'd rather + base verb with I'd rather you + past form. It's time + past form can sound critical; add a reason or softer introduction where needed.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
