Before the lesson
Use the single learner page in pairs. Personal or invented responses can vary; there is no fixed answer key.
- Map the library renovation exchange onto damaged earlier, repaired already, being renovated now and reopening later.
- Discuss local improvements, rules and services; describe the road, parcel and venue-preparation situations with appropriate time references.
- Give a community update about a library, park or transport problem, covering earlier events, current work and future priorities.
Support and extension
Build the tense in be while retaining the past participle, including been and being. Keep an agent when it is useful; do not force a passive where an active sentence is clearer.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
