Before the lesson
Use the single learner page in pairs. Personal or invented answers can vary; there is no fixed answer key.
- Read the handmade-bowl model and identify routine production and the object's past history.
- Ask about local products, food, buildings, gifts and services, labelling unknown information as a guess.
- Tell an object's real or imagined story: where it was made, its use and how you received it; swap roles.
Support and extension
Check is/are or was/were plus participle. Include by when the agent matters, and use active sentences when naming the person is more natural.
Suggested approach. Adjust the pace and number of questions to suit your class.
